Emily and Ramy’s Persian Wedding at the Pierce House

What can I say? Emily & Ramy’s spirited and intimate Persian wedding at the Pierce House in Lincoln was just incredible! This vivacious couple, Iranian American and Egyptian respectively, were wed in the traditional Persian manner. Their ceremony took place under a lace canopy with a beautiful “Sofre aght” (ceremonial wedding table) adorned with flowers as well as symbolic objects and foods. Sharing a taste of honey was a sweet and magical ceremonial moment. Friends also ritually ground a light dusting of sugar over their heads onto the lace canopy. Family and friends were overflowing with love and good wishes for this dynamic and handsome pair. The traditional Persian food, catered by Melissa Jalilian of Fiouna Catering Persian Cuisine, was some of the best food I’ve ever tasted in my life.
