I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph this very special human being who brings great peace, love and compassion into the world. Thanks to Lama Konchok Sonam head of the Drikung Meditation Center in Arlington Ma. for bringing Drupon Trinley Rinpoche, his retreat master guru to the United States for the first time. Thank you for inviting me to create these portraits. In a few of the photos you’ll see Rinpoche (an honorific title meaning “precious”), spinning a prayer wheel which contains millions of prayers for peace. Rinpoche spins the prayer wheel while visualizing loving blessings spreading out indiscriminately to all. This is a spiritual practice which habituates compassion and loving kindess in the practitioners mind.
