Congregation Shirat Hayam of Boston’s North Shore honored their beloved Cantor, Emil Berkovits for his beautiful voice and his many years of inspired and devoted service. In Yiddish, there is a very special word “mensch”, which means a person of integrity and honor. Truly this describes Cantor Berkovits! The outpouring of love and enthusiasm for Cantor Emil was a testament to how many hearts and lives he has touched throughout his career. Mazal Tov Cantor Emil!!
For the entertainment of the evening, the stars and creators of the longest running comedy in off-Broadway history brought excerpts of their production of “Jewtopia Live” to Congregation Shirat Hayam.
